Living Last Supper
March 31 and April 1
7:00pmThe congregation of Faith Lutheran Church is inviting the
community to a dramatization entitled "The Living Last Supper", where
the audience will face those questions as the church presents a
re-enactment of this event as part of its Easter celebration. The
dramatization, which begins at 7:00pm on March 31, and again on April 1,
is presented by many of the church's music folks, and several volunteers
who passionately speak the thoughts of the original disciples "This is
not your typical Maundy Thursday service," Jeff Tomlinson, Director of
Faith's presentation said. "Rather, it is a moving and vivid
interpretation of DaVinci's famous painting The Last Supper, and the
internal wrestling of the 12 disciples." The dramatization is
accompanied by stirring, but beautiful music, and administration of Holy
Eucharist for those desiring to participate. Each disciple in the
painting will come to life and share their internal struggles at this
critical time. From out of the darkness, each will speak his mind as to
why and questions who would be the one that will betray their leader.
The audience is privy to their thoughts as they search for the betrayer
among their brethren, or from within themselves. Each one asks the heart
wrenching question, "Is it I? Is it I? |
